Captain Nadhem AlHamad joins following 15 years with Air Arabia

Alpha Aviation Academy (AAA), one of the Middle East’s leading pilot training providers and the second largest provider of the Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) in the world, has appointed a new General Manager.

Captain Nadhem AlHamad joins Alpha Aviation Academy following 15 years with Air Arabia, the Middle East’s first low-cost carrier, where he most recently served as Air Arabia Jordan CEO. Alpha Aviation is the primary provider of new pilots to Air Arabia. Having completed his training at the British Aerospace Flying College in the United Kingdom, Captain Nadhem went on to work for Gulf Air before joining Air Arabia in 2003.

At Air Arabia he served in a wide range of senior roles – including holding responsibility for operational excellence delivery and overseeing the development or regional hubs, academies and special training programmes.

He later went on to serve as Head of Operations for Air Arabia in Morocco, before being appointed CEO of Air Arabia in Jordan. Whilst at Air Arabia Captain Nadhem also qualified and served as a Type Rated and Synthetic Flight Examiner (TRE/SFE).

Having previously been involved with the development of Alpha Aviation Academy whilst at Air Arabia, Captain Nadhem’s focus in the coming years will be on expansion of the Academy. As well as increasing cadet numbers and facilities, this expansion also includes Alpha Aviation Academy exploring how it can assist other Airlines in the region with their First Officer demands and other aviation training requirements.

Captain Nadhem AlHamad, Alpha Aviation Academy General Manager, said: “I am delighted to be appointed General Manager of Alpha Aviation Academy at a hugely exciting time in the company’s history. We are aiming to double the size of our training capacity within five years and will continue to afford opportunities to empower prospective pilots, irrespective of nationality, age or gender.”
